VSP and Ludlow police investigate infant death

UPDATE: 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16:
LUDLOW — Vermont State Police (VSP) have released the name of the deceased infant in this investigation. The child is 11-month-old Karsen Rickert. Karsen is the son of Abigail Wood and Nicholas Rickert, according to VSP.
In an updated press release issued on Jan. 16, police stated that emergency personnel responded to the Ludlow residence Wood shares with her boyfriend, Tyler Pollender-Savery, on Jan. 11 for a report of an unresponsive infant. Karsen was later pronounced deceased at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, all according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.  An autopsy has been completed by the New Hampshire OCME.  At this point, cause and manner of death are undetermined, police said.  Nothing additional will be released at this time.

LUDLOW — Police are investigating the death of an 11-month-old infant in Ludlow.


During the morning of Jan. 11, at approximately 8:40 a.m., Vermont State Police (VSP) troopers responded to assist the Ludlow Police Department with a death investigation.


VSP detectives from B Troop East are investigating the death of an 11-month-old male, all according to a press release from the VSP Westminster barracks.


This investigation is ongoing. There is no public safety concern.

No names or other information will be released at this time. Additional information will follow in subsequent press releases, all according to police.
