Charles Leslie Hale
ANDOVER — Charles Leslie Hale, 90, passed away peacefully January 9, 2017 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
Charles grew up in Rutland. He was a graduate of the Vermont Agricultural School (VTC) class of 1944. He served in the Army during WW II. He was married to Shirley Barnes November 1, 1952. They had 3 sons; Leslie, Gary and Robert. In 1962 they started Horseshoe Acres Campground in Andover and operated it for 35 years. Charles and Shirley enjoyed traveling the world together.
Charles is survived by his wife Shirley, sons Leslie and his wife Lisa of Rockingham and Robert of Andover, 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Edward, Kristin and Stephen, 4 great-grandchildren and a sister Esther Hoadley of Durham, NH. He was predeceased by a son Gary and a sister Betty Perrin.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
