Texas fugative apprehended in Andover

James A. JacksonJames A. JacksonANDOVER — A Chester man wanted on three warrants out of Texas was arrested in Andover on Friday and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

On Friday, Jan. 6 the Vermont State Police and Chester Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshals Service with the apprehension of fugitive James A. Jackson, 46, of Chester at a residence on East Hill Road in Andover. Jackson was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Westminster Barracks where he was processed as a fugitive from justice out of Texas.

Jackson had been on parole in Texas for a burglary into a residence. In August 2016, the Texas Parole Board revoked his parole and issued an arrest warrant as a result of three warrants being issued against him from Sabine County, Texas for aggravated sexual assault on a minor.

Bail was set at $50,000 and Jackson was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.

Jackson will be arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge in Windsor Superior Court-Criminal Division on Monday, Jan. 9 at 12:30 p.m.
